This week we will explore a new microcontroller-based interface, the Phidget, and discover how one kind of electronic sensor converts physical stimuli to signals which can control an interactive exhibit.
Do Before Class
If you want to use your own laptops, you will need to install the Phidgets drivers for your operating system (Mac or Windows). You will find the links here. Once you have clicked through the “Quick Downloads” link, be sure to follow the instructions carefully.
In Class
In class we will be using the patches described in the following tutorial. Make sure also to read about the rotation and slider sensors.
